It is with great sadness that we announce Libbie, our Patient Group Development Manager, will be leaving the charity in late-September. After four fantastic years at Findacure, Libbie has decided that now is a good time to move onto a new (and significantly colder!) challenge in Newcastle with the Care Quality Commission. She will be working in their intelligence department to evaluate how health and social care services across the country are performing and suggest areas for improvement.
Libbie joined the Findacure team in September 2015 as our Fundraising and Communications Officer. In the past four years, she has had just a few role changes to Projects and Communications Officer, Projects and Communications Manager, and finally Patient Group Development Manager. In this most recent role, she has been busy guiding our peer mentoring programme, developing our e-learning portal, managing volunteers, and doing celebratory dances when something goes particularly well.
Libbie will be treating us to a full departure blog next month, but for now, she has a few words: “I would like to say a huge thank you to everyone who has made my time at Findacure so special. I have thoroughly enjoyed every moment and will miss both the Findacure team and our wider community very much. I hope that, through my new role, I’ll be able to continue making improvements to the way rare disease patients are treated and cared for.”
We will be opening recruitment for a new team member soon. We are particularly interested in hearing from members of our community who may be keen to get involved on a part-time or full-time basis. Keep an eye out for future updates!
