Recruiting and managing trustees

by | Apr 17, 2020

Trustees are a necessary part of all charitable organisations. Ultimately, they are the ones with legal responsibility for the organisation and are also in charge of setting its direction and overseeing its governance. When used correctly, trustees can be a huge asset – helping you achieve your mission and aims, and offering invaluable advice and guidance.

Ensuring you select the right people for the job is, therefore, a difficult process. For small patient groups, it can be all too easy to ask willing friends and family to fill the role, even though they might not be best suited for the organisation in the long run.

Our webinar, taking place at 3 pm on Wednesday 22nd April, will help rare disease patient groups to establish efficient trustee boards that set their organisation up for success. In particular, we will be discussing:

  • The role and purpose of a trustee.
  • Identifying the skills and resources your organisation needs from its trustee board.
  • Recruiting the right people for the role, and where to find them.
  • Managing your trustees and getting the most from your board.

The webinar is free to attend and registration is now open on GoToWebinar
