Can you help Pitt Hopkins UK? They are participating in our Recruiting a Rare Board programme and are seeking a treasurer, trustees and volunteers. Find out more below and apply!

Can you help us?

Pitt-Hopkins syndrome is an ultra-rare neurodevelopmental condition which effects about 4 in a million people.
Pitt Hopkins UK, a national registered charity aims to raise the awareness of Pitt-Hopkins syndrome (PTHS) among health professionals and supports families of both adults and children with PTHS delivering important information and encouraging future research.

We are looking for a volunteer to be our treasurer.

Do you need experience of finances?
No, but having some familiarity with basic book-keeping, producing budgets, and online banking would be helpful.

The Treasurer reports regularly to the Board of Trustees and works closely with the charity Chair on a day-to-day basis and is also involved in preparing the annual report and accounts.

We are a small, widely dispersed community and so the charity operates mainly online. Trustee meetings take place in the evening about 3-4 times a year.

Deadline for applications: 31/12/2021

Seeking a new challenge? Ever considered becoming a charity trustee or volunteer?

We are a very small charity run by volunteers who, at the moment, are all parents of a child with Pitt-Hopkins syndrome, an ultra-rare neurodevelopmental condition (4 in a million), that leads to severe learning difficulties and delayed motor skills. Pitt Hopkins UK raises the awareness of Pitt-Hopkins syndrome (PTHS) among health professionals and supports families of both adults and children with PTHS delivering up-to-date information and encouraging future research.
We need hands on help, either as a trustee or maybe you’d prefer to be a volunteer!

Experience in IT, marketing, planning, fundraising, social media are all skills that would help our small charity. If you have only one, that’s enough (but more is better!). We could definitely use your help. We are very much a kitchen table charity and have learned as we have gone along. All our meetings are online. Our trustee meetings are in the evening when the children are in bed.
