In-person workshop | Demonstrating impact: the key to a successful rare disease patient group

13th July, 2022 at 10:00 am - 4:30 pm BST

Wednesday 13th July from 10 am – 4:30 pm BST at The Royal College of Surgeons in London

Beacon is delighted to announce the first in-person workshop since 2020 – Demonstrating impact: the key to a successful rare disease patient group.

As a patient group, your impact is the difference you make to your community, whether that’s helping newly diagnosed patients, raising awareness, driving research or whatever your goals may be.

Why is impact so important to patient group success?

Being able to understand and demonstrate your impact is the key to your patient group’s success.

Impact measurement allows you to improve the work you are doing as you understand what is and isn’t working and therefore, can better serve your community. It also provides you with credible data which you can use to prove your worth to potential funders and donors.

If you don’t know where to start with impact measurement, join this in-person workshop to learn from an expert trainer and come away with a measurement strategy you can apply to all your projects.

What will I gain from attending this workshop?

  • An understanding of why impact measurement is vital to your organisation and how to implement it
  • Knowledge of the vocabulary and theory of social impact
  • An understanding of the difference between impact measurement, impact management and monitoring and reporting
  • A practical impact action plan that you have developed during the day
  • The rare opportunity to connect, learn from and interact with fellow members of the rare disease community in-person for the first time in two years!
